The Coulee Yurt

The Coulee Yurt interior revolves around a wood burning stove that sits under the toono (overhead dome) of the Yurt. It has an eating area with a table and chairs for up to six. a sitting area, a food preparation area, a queen bed, two twin beds (one is a day bed), and the back of the day bed mattress can be used on the floor to sleep a fifth person. It has high speed internet access.

The Coulee Yurt glampsite has a 22ft diameter Yurt made in Mongolia on a complete section of land that overlooks a 200 acre Alberta coulee from the west side, making for an amazing view! It rents as a complete unit that sleeps up to 5 with an outdoor bathroom and cooking area. The Yurt is off-grid, with a solar power system, a propane gas BBQ and water heater, an indoor wood stove, outdoor fire pit, and high speed wifi. We are 3 hours NE of Calgary, 1.5 hours E of Red Deer, and 2.5 hours SE of Edmonton.

Guests have full use and access to the whole glampsite that is enclosed by a rail fence to keep the cattle out if they are grazing in the area. Guests also have access to the coulees and trails for hiking or mountain biking and the rest of the more flat land on the section of land (640 acres) for hiking and biking. The site has an approved outhouse, but our home is 2-3 km away from the Yurt and we have a full bathroom in our shop. This washroom available by appointment only to yurt guests who would like a hot shower and a flush toilet. We are happy to have you use it.

Our main goal is to provide unforgettable glamping experiences for our guests. We wanted to create glampsites that offer peace and quiet, and an escape into nature suitable for families of all shapes and sizes.
